Welcome to Lu Lights. By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Who We Are

Lu Lights (“we”, “us”, “our”) sells custom-made candles online. We operate under South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (“CPA”) and the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”).

2. Placing Orders

  • All candles are made to order, based on your specifications.
  • Once you confirm your order and payment, your order is considered accepted and in production.
  • We will confirm your order via email, including a summary of your chosen candle design, scent, and quantity.
  • Please review carefully: change-of-mind returns are not accepted for custom candles.

3. Payments

  • Payments are processed securely via PayFast.
  • By completing a payment, you authorise us to debit the amount for your order.
  • Prices are in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable.

4. Delivery

  • We deliver across South Africa via trusted courier partners.
  • Delivery timelines are estimates; we are not responsible for courier delays.
  • Risk of loss or damage passes to the customer once the product leaves our facility, except when returning defective items.
  • Shipping costs are calculated at checkout and are the customer’s responsibility unless otherwise stated.

5. Refunds & Returns

  • Custom candles cannot be returned for a change of mind.
  • If a product is defective, damaged, or not as described, you may request a refund or replacement within 7 calendar days of receiving the product.

  • We may request photos or return of the defective item. Refunds will be issued via the original payment method once the claim is approved.
  • This policy aligns with South African consumer protection laws.

6. Privacy & Cookies

  • We collect, use, and store your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
  • By using our website, you consent to how we process your personal data, including via cookies and analytics tools.
  • You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on our website (images, text, logos, designs) is owned by Lu Lights unless stated otherwise.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content without written permission.

8. Liability

Lu Lights is not liable for:

  • Delays caused by courier services
  • Losses due to incorrect customer details
  • Allergic reactions (please check product details before ordering)

Our liability is limited to the value of the product purchased, except where law requires otherwise.

9. Communications

By placing an order or subscribing, you consent to receive emails or WhatsApp messages regarding:

  • Order confirmations and updates
  • Customer support
  • Marketing communications (if opted in)

You can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time.

10. Changes to Terms

The latest version is always available on our website.

Continued use of our website after updates indicates your acceptance.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms & Conditions are governed by South African law.

Any disputes will be handled in good faith. If unresolved, disputes may be referred to the National Consumer Commission or South African courts.
